Detmold, June 26, 2017. On June 23, the electrical engineering company Weidmüller was awarded as one of the most innovative mid-sized companies in Germany. During a festive event in Essen, attended by approximately 1,000 guests, mentor Ranga Yogeshwar handed the prestigious Top 100 award to Dr Jan Stefan Michels, Head of Standards and Technology Development at Weidmüller, and Michael Matthesius, Head of Automation Products & Solutions Division. “We are delighted to have received the Top 100 award. This shows that the innovation management and processes we have in place work very well and that our innovations are convincing when compared to those of other companies.”
During the selection process, Weidmüller particularly impressed with their innovation processes and the success of its implemented innovations. The “Total Energy Monitoring” and “Industrial Analytics” solutions were also among the decisive factors. They enable companies to precisely monitor machines and systems as well as to reliably detect anomalies, faults and increased energy consumption at an early stage in order to conduct failure prediction and to create maintenance recommendations. “Industrial Analytics enable us to offer our customers entirely new opportunities – manufacturers of machines and systems benefit from additional selling points and our range of new service-based business models, while machine and system operators benefit from increased efficiency and system availability.”
The electrical engineering company Weidmüller received the innovation award for the second time. “Innovations and the latest production processes form the basis for future commercial success. We consider this second award as both praise and motivation to make further improvements and to develop new innovative products and solutions”, said Weidmüller board spokesman Jörg Timmermann.
TOP 100 is the only independent award for innovation management in Germany. An extensive scientific analysis measuring the innovation potential of the candidate companies in five categories decides who will have the honour of bearing the Top 100 seal. This year, 414 companies underwent this laborious evaluation.
